SMS Opt-In

Fairhope Recreation Services SMS Opt-In Process

This page explains how City of Fairhope Recreation Services members give consent to receive text message notifications.

Program

City of Fairhope Recreation Services sends low-volume account, facility, program, and membership text notifications to members who choose to receive them.

How Members Opt In

Members opt in during in-person account registration, membership purchase, membership renewal, or account update at City recreation facilities. Staff ask for permission to send text messages before enabling SMS notifications on the member account.

Members may also opt in on printed membership forms by writing their mobile number and checking the SMS consent box. The checkbox is not preselected.

Opt In Here

You can also give consent on this page. Ticking the box below records your agreement to the wording shown; the front desk matches it to your membership.

You can submit without a mobile number or the text message box ticked. Text consent is optional and is not required to hold a membership. Submitting does not send you a text.

Staff Script

Staff use this wording when asking for consent: "Would you like to receive text messages from City of Fairhope Recreation Services about your membership, renewals, facility updates, programs, and account notices? Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Text message consent is optional and is not required to purchase a membership."

Form Checkbox Wording

Printed membership forms use this consent language: "I agree to receive SMS/MMS text messages from City of Fairhope Recreation Services about my membership, renewals, facility updates, programs, and account notices. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent is not required to purchase a membership."

What Members Receive

  • Membership renewal reminders.
  • Facility closure or schedule notices.
  • Program, class, lesson, league, event, or reservation reminders.
  • Account updates and front desk service replies.

Opt-Out and Help

Members can opt out at any time by replying STOP. Members can reply HELP for assistance or contact City of Fairhope Recreation Services at (251) 928-2835.

Consent Records

Staff record the member's SMS preference in the membership system. Mobile opt-in data and text messaging consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
